The Five Boroughs of NYC, briefly explained
+ A local fave multi-level bar & last chance for Saks Fifth Avenue lights 💡
Happy final day of 2025,
While New Year resolutions are a bit, meh?, I hope exploring New York City is one of your top resolutions. 😜
One of our goals here at Better Together Here is to double our podcast audience. If you’re willing to leave us a review on Apple Podcasts or follow/rate us on Spotify, that would go a million miles toward helping us reach our goal in 2026.
Either way, thank you for being a part of this newsletter. As always, we’re just an email away.
And now...

Events We Love This Week: December 31, 2025 - January 7, 2026
In the city this week? Here are some fun events we’re keeping an eye on.
NYC Inauguration Block Party - January 1 at 11am
As the calendar turns, so does city leadership this year. The newly elected mayor, Zohran Mamdani, is throwing an outdoor block party celebration as part of inauguration day. 🎉
It’s free to attend, but you need to RSVP. 👈
Saks Fifth Avenue Light Show - Ending Soon
The light show at Saks Fifth Avenue is an iconic holiday tradition that returned this year after a 2024 hiatus.
While we can’t pinpoint an exact date for when it ends, most online sources point to this coming weekend as your last chance!
Performances start every night around 5pm and repeat every 10 minutes.

You’ll Have to Check It Out - The Duplex
We all need a night out on the dance floor from time to time. The problem with most clubs in NYC tho? They’re:
Overpriced
Pretentious
Full of people with bad, or at least weird, intentions
While The Duplex isn’t a club, it can help you scratch that itch for dancing, singing, or both!
Downstairs you’ll find comedy shows, piano sing-alongs, and more.
Upstairs you’ll find drag shows during the week and on the weekends a spacious dance floor without a DJ to be found. Instead, the bartender queues up music videos that show throughout the room.
It is a WHOLE vibe.
One minute everyone is watching and dancing along to a Cardi B song, then the next track leads to everyone belting ABBA. 🎊
Bottom line, if you want a fun night out, then The Duplex is your spot. ✌️
Winter Staples 🥶
Those NYC nights are becoming bitterly cold. Keeping your skin covered is key.

2- Beanie
