+ Smorgasburg returns & additional ticket options for Shakespeare in the Park
Hi there,
Snagging free tickets to Shakespeare in the Park is getting slightly easier this summer. The program, running from May 22 through September 8, is adding ticket locations across all five boroughs, with the Central Park ticket location still available.
And now…
In this week’s newsletter:

Events We Love This Week: April 29 - May 6, 2026
In the city this week? Here are some fun events we’re keeping an eye on.
Smorgasburg - All Summer Long, Thursdays-Sundays
Dubbed “the Woodstock of Eating”, Smorgasburg is the largest weekly open-air food market in America.
With 70+ vendors, you’ll surely find some tasty dishes you’ll love. The schedule, now through October, is as follows:
World Trade Center on Thursdays & Fridays
Williamsburg on Saturdays
Prospect Park on Sundays
Each location/day runs from 11 am to 6 pm. Check all the vendors here.
Free Dead in the Park Concert - Tuesday, May 12 @ 4:30 pm
Stella Blue’s Band will play the seventh Free Dead in the Park concert to benefit Riverkeeper.
Following in the footsteps of the Grateful Dead over 50 years ago, Stella will take to the same stage at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park in New York City at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, May 12, for two sets of music to raise awareness and funds to help clean the Hudson River.

You’ll Have to Check It Out - $1.50 Fresh Pizza
The moment I learned that the $0.99 slice in Midtown was bumped up to $1.50 was devastating.
While we won’t be able to replicate the feeling of handing over a tattered dollar bill and getting a hot, delicious slice of pizza, $1.50 is still a very fair price.
While there are many locations throughout the city, the location on Broadway near 55th Street in Midtown cooks up an unbeatable pie.
Want a picnic in the park? $1.50 slice.
Feel like crying and need a pick-me-up? $1.50 slice.
Need a very late, late-night snack (open til 5 am)? $1.50 slice.
Just got your tax return, and it disappointed the hell out of you? $1.50 slice.
The $1 slice (now $1.50) is a quintessential piece of New York City. For $3, you’ve got a meal.. unbeatable. 🫡
24 Hours in NYC? Here’s an Itinerary
A longer trip would be our recommendation, but sometimes 1 day is all you have in New York City.
And while you won’t be able to see it all, you can catch the highlights.
In our newest episode, we’ll walk you through a perfect day in NYC from morning to the perfect way to end your explorations (hint: it’s a $1.50 slice).
