Events We Love This Week: October 15-22, 2025
In the city this week? Here are some fun events we’re keeping an eye on.
35th Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade - October 19
Few community events have exploded in popularity like the Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade.
The dog costumes, unbeatable.
The fluffiness, top of the line.
The vibes, immaculate.
While attendance tickets are currently sold out, it’s worth keeping an eye on the event if any more open up.
Dear New York - Closes October 19
If you’ve stumbled upon Humans of New York and enjoyed what you saw, you’ve gotta see Dear New York in Grand Central Station.
Until October 19th, instead of advertisements in Grand Central, you’ll find immersive projections, photo galleries, and exhibitions. All of which highlight the people, experiences, and energy of New York City.
It’s a sprawling, heartfelt love letter to this amazing city.

You’ll Have to Check It Out - Gurumé
I’m a sucker for tapas restaurants, especially when traveling with a group. You get tastes of a plethora of dishes, usually at a fair price.
Gurumé brings the world of Korean food into the Spanish tapas tradition, conveniently located near Broadway shows (see location here).
Dishes you must try include:
Crispy corn & cheese (our top choice)
Baby back ribs
Fried chicken wings (perfectly crisp)
Any of the desserts
Plus, they have an unbelievable happy hour every day with cocktails, beer, and wine (Tue-Thurs 5-7 pm & Sunday 3-5 pm).
From their website and head Chef Joon Hyun Ryu:
“With Gurumé, Chef Joon hopes to offer an escape for visitors on cloudy days to block out the chaos in their lives, have a perfect bite, and momentarily forget about their troubles.”
Forward to Your Travel Buddy
We write this newsletter, publish our podcast, and update our website because we fell in love with New York City the moment we first saw it in person. And we want everyone to have enjoyable, memorable experiences in the city.
Please help us do that by forwarding this email to your travel buddy or a friend visiting NYC soon. Thank you! 🙏
