Whitney Biennial - Now through August 23

The Whitney Biennial examines the shifting currents of art in the United States. In their words:

“This Biennial is less a definitive answer than an invitation to tune in to the moods offered by an intergenerational and international group of fifty-six artists, duos, and collectives who sustain this ongoing conversation.”

We LOVED some of this year’s displays, including the touching commentary on living with dogs (see image above).

Battery Dance Festival - August 10-16

The Battery Dance Festival, at Robert F. Wagner Jr. Park in Battery City, is NYC’s longest-running free, public dance festival.

Throughout the week you’ll find outdoor performances, interactive experiences, and the ‘Everybody Dance Now’ each night.

About a 15-minute walk from the Museum of Natural History, you’ll find Mimi’s Pizza.

This shop boasts a wide variety of slices (or pies) that the entire group loved on our most recent visit.

The cheese? A hit.
