MoMA quick guide: Here's what to know 👀

+ Free ice cream this weekend & NYFW is in full swing

Hey again,

Apologies for sending this a day late, and thanks for being with us.

Los Tacos No. 1, a popular street taco joint with locations across NYC, recently welcomed a private equity investment. If this tasty and highly recommended spot loses its allure and flavor a year from now, don’t say we didn’t warn you. 😜

And now..

In this week’s newsletter:

🎫 Events We Love This Week: September 10-16 - Rent’s expensive, but this ice cream’s free & New York Fashion Week events (including free options)

Events We Love This Week: September 10-16 2026

In the city this week? Here are some fun events we’re keeping an eye on.

Scoop the City- September 12-13

Piece of Cake (a moving company) & StreetEasy (an NYC housing app) are collaborating this weekend, with their ice cream truck making stops in Chelsea, Carroll Gardens, the UWS, and more.

The goal? 🍦

Give out free ice cream in the city’s hottest neighborhoods for 2026. Beyond ice cream, you can enter to win Knicks tickets and plenty of other NYC goodies.

New York Fashion Week - Now Through Sunday

While I won’t even pretend to understand high fashion, people of all walks of life LOVE New York Fashion Week.

Of course, you can shell out around $150 for tickets to the main runway events; there are also loads of pop-ups and free events throughout the city.

Here are some free options worth checking out. 👗

Jets & Giants Home Openers - September 13 & 20

Ny Jets GIF by Respective

The NFL season kicks off in full swing this week, including the New York teams launching what they hope to be rebound years for both teams.

You can catch the Giants’ home opener on Sunday Night Football this week, and next Sunday (the 20th), the Jets take on the Packers at 1 pm.

We’ve seen both teams live, and frankly, the Jets fans are an absolute vibe. ✈️

You’ll Have to Check It Out - Jake’s Dilemma

After 32 years on the Upper West Side, Jake’s Dilemma is closing its doors on October 18. This news is heartbreaking.

We’ve spent many late nights dancing, watching sports, and solving life’s problems with friends (or something like that) over a shared Bud Light Seltzer.

And that’s maybe the irony of the closing due to a change in rent.. Jake’s Dilemma had some of the best drink prices in the city.

Our recommendation? Go to Jake’s before it closes.

You’ll find daily specials, friendly bartenders, and a neighborhood feel that we all yearn for at a bar.
